At SITL 2026, one message came through clearly in conversations with supply chain leaders. Most organizations are no longer struggling to model their networks. They are struggling to use those models to make consistent, high-quality decisions. Digital Twins are already widely discussed. The challenge now is execution.

From Shipment Data to Network Decisions
During SITL, Log-hub presented a joint project with Shiptify and Safran, and then demonstrated how a Digital Twin can serve as the next step, building on the project’s results and turning them into continuous decision making.
By integrating shipment level data into an analytical model, the team evaluated flows across the entire network not only descriptively but through optimization. By simulating alternative network configurations, the team translated shipment level data into concrete network decisions, reducing inbound mileage from 16 million to 6.4 million kilometers and outbound mileage from 10 million to 4 million kilometers, while cutting CO₂ emissions by more than 30 percent.

Closing the Gap Between Modeling & Action
This is where many Digital Twin initiatives fall short today. Models exist but decisions are still made in spreadsheets, disconnected tools, or one-off analyses.
Bridging this gap requires structured optimization logic to turn network data into decisions and interactive visualization that allows teams to run analyses consistently rather than occasionally. In many cases, Digital Twins stop at visualization, without the optimization capabilities required to generate and compare decision scenarios.
At Log-hub, Digital Twins are developed through a structured process, starting with an automated data model and AS-IS analysis to create transparency and identify blind spots, followed by visualizations and maps for deep data understanding, and extended with a scenario simulation engine that enables teams to run simulations and evaluate network decisions. This approach allows companies to move step by step from data visibility to simulation-based decision support within the same environment.
What Comes Next
SITL 2026 confirmed a shift in how supply chain technology is evaluated. The question is no longer whether companies can model their supply chain. It is whether they can turn that model into a system that continuously drives decisions.
Digital Twins will deliver long term value only if they are embedded into daily workflows, connected to optimization logic, and supported by interfaces that reduce friction.
This is the direction Log-hub continues to develop toward by integrating Digital Twins, optimization, and AI driven interaction into a single decision environment.
Companies looking to move from static models to actionable supply chain decisions can explore Log-hub’s Supply Chain Apps through the freemium model and apply these concepts directly to their own networks.
