Black Friday, traditionally held on the fourth Friday of November, has become the unofficial kickoff to the holiday shopping season. A thorough root-cause analysis allows organizations to differentiate between isolated incidents and deeper structural weaknesses. This process often involves reviewing performance across procurement, logistics, customer service, and support functions to identify patterns that contributed to operational strain. 

Documenting lessons learned ensure that insights from the surge are retained within organizational memory, rather than dissipating once the crisis has passed. These lessons can inform corrective actions, such as diversifying suppliers, increasing safety stock, expanding carrier networks, or developing surge staffing plans.
